Dr Aoife Morrin

Dr Aoife Morrin, Chair of DCU Virtual Laboratories Working Group, School of Chemical Sciences, Faculty of Science & Health, DCU

Dr Aoife Morrin is an Associate Professor in Analytical Chemistry at Dublin City University. Since 2021, she has led out on the Virtual Labs Project as a HCI National Initiative for DCU and currently Chairs the DCU Virtual Labs Working Group. In terms of education, she has focussed her efforts on improving laboratory skills in undergraduate chemistry modules run in her School using immersive technologies.

She is also established in the field of electroanalytical device development for environmental and biomedical sensing applications where she has a background in soft, functional materials, microfluidics and whole device system development. Her research group is focussed on wearable sensors development using soft responsive materials and the gas emission coming from skin.

She has published >70 peer-reviewed research papers, 9 review papers, 1 book. (h-Index: 30; citations>3800).
