DCU to go Atlantic Blue to celebrate our Atlantic Ocean for World Oceans Day
Dublin City University will be joining over forty landmarks nationwide to celebrate World Oceans Day (Saturday June 8th) by going Atlantic Blue this weekend to celebrate our connection to the Atlantic Ocean. World Oceans Day celebrates the ocean, its importance in our lives and how each of us can protect it, no matter where we live.
Over the weekend the DCU letters on Collins Avenue will be lit up in blue.
Go Atlantic Blue is being spearheaded in Ireland by the Marine Institute-led AORA-CSA (Atlantic Ocean Research Alliance Coordination & Support Action) and is supported by the DCU Water Institute.
It’s the first year to ‘Go Atlantic Blue’ with the aim of raising awareness of the vital role that the Atlantic Ocean plays in the lives of Irish people.
