Former DCU students selected on 2016 GAA/GPA Opel All-Star team
Four former DCU students and current Dublin footballers have been rewarded for their performances throughout the year with a place on the 2016 GAA/GPA Opel Football All-Star team.
Jonny Cooper, Philly McMahon, Ciaran Kilkenny and Dean Rock will all be adding an All-Star to their All-Ireland and National League honours this Friday night, November 4th at the Convention Centre, Dublin.
Jonny Cooper and Dean Rock pick up their first All-Star awards at full-back and corner-forward respectively while Philly McMahon and Ciaran Kilkenny are collecting their second All-Star awards.
Kilkenny is named at centre-forward while McMahon takes a spot at corner-back.
The full line-up is as follows: David Clarke (Mayo), Brendan Harrison (Mayo), Jonny Cooper (Dublin), Philly McMahon (Dublin), Lee Keegan (Mayo), Colm Boyle (Mayo), Ryan McHugh (Donegal), Brian Fenton (Dublin), Mattie Donnelly (Tyrone), Peter Harte (Tyrone), Diarmuid Connolly (Dublin), Ciaran Kilkenny (Dublin), Dean Rock (Dublin), Michael Quinlivan (Tipperary), Paul Geaney (Kerry).
Coverage of the event will be broadcast live on RTÉ1 from 7.00pm. The GAA/GPA Opel Hurling All-Star team will be announced on the night as will the Hurler and Footballer of the Year.
