DCU recognised for excellence in research employment
DCU has been awarded the prestigious HR Excellence in Research accreditation by the European Commission in recognition of the University’s commitment to providing a work environment that supports the career development of its researchers.
The HR Excellence in Research award reflects DCU’s commitment to implement the principles embodied in the European Charter for Researchers and Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. The Charter and Code specify the roles, responsibilities and entitlements of researchers as well as those of employers and funders of researchers. The overarching aim is to develop an attractive, open and sustainable European labour market for researchers.
Welcoming the announcement, Ms Marian Burns, DCU Director of Human Resources said,
“The HR Excellence in Research award reflects DCU’s commitment to continuously improve our Human Resource policies in line with European best practice, as well as our commitment to achieve fair and transparent recruitment and appraisal procedures.”
Professor Alan Harvey, Vice President for Research at DCU said,
“This award was achieved through a comprehensive, collaborative effort by the University’s Human Resources Department, Research Innovation Support, the Graduate Studies Office and our wider research community. This will cement DCU’s reputation as an excellent employer providing a stimulating and progressive research environment.”
