Applying to DCU as a Mature Student

Thinking of applying to DCU as a mature student?

We are delighted that you are considering DCU! If you are 23 on January 1 of the year you intend to start college, and are applying for an undergraduate degree, you can apply to DCU as a mature student. This means you will not be expected to meet the general requirements for the programme you are interested in, such as Leaving Certificate points; instead you will be assessed on your suitability for the programme based on a written piece or an interview. (There may be specific entry requirements for some programmes, such as a specific Leaving Certificate subject or its equivalent, check the programme requirements carefully).

What resources are available to assist you in making an application to DCU?

The DCU Mature Student Guide details the supports and learning resources that are available to you in DCU.

The DCU Preparing Your Finances guide offers information on what to prepare for and how to prepare for it before and after you register as a student

The DCU Mature Applicant Interview Guide outlines what to expect and how to prepare once you have been selected for interview for your DCU programme.
