Academic biography

Paul is an Assistant Professor in the School of Mathematical Sciences at Dublin City University. His main research interest is the Theory of Stochastic PDEs which is at the interface of Stochastic Analysis and Analysis, in particular the Theory of PDEs.  Most of Paul's research findings are motivated by fluid dynamics, but he is also interested  in the applications of SPDEs in mathematical biology (evolutionary equations for chemotaxis for example).
Prior joining DCU Paul's was  an Austrian Science Fund (FWF) Lise Meitner Fellow at the Montauniversitaet Leoben, Austria,  a Senior Lecturer at the University of Pretoria and  Marie Curie fellow at the University of York.

Research interests

Theory of (Stochastic) Partial Differential Equations and its applications (fluid dynamics and biology):

 * Well-posedness (Existence and Uniqueness of solution)

 * Long-time behaviour (Existence and Uniqueness of Invariant measure, Global Attractor)

* Singular limits of (S)PDEs

* Numerical Treatment of (S)PDEs

* Homogenization.
