Survey on Sacraments
The Archdiocese of Dublin is conducting a large-scale consultation process on how we prepare for and celebrate the Sacraments of Baptism, Reconciliation, First Communion and Confirmation. In response to concerns that the sacraments are sometimes seen as mere ‘rites of passage’, a Review Group was set up late last year by Archbishop Diarmaid Martin. This group is exploring how can these be celebrations of a vibrant faith, joyful encounters with the Risen Christ, instead of the ‘conveyor belt’ as they are often described. In this listening phase of the review process, two surveys on sacraments were launched on 4th February and will remain live for three weeks. The first is aimed at parents and guardians, with the second for those working in schools and parishes. All interested parties are being asked to complete the relevant survey and offer their own insights and suggestions.
More information on the review and links to the survey can be found on the Dublin Diocese website.
