Education Yearbook: Religion and Education
Dr. Gareth Byrne, the Director of the Mater Dei Centre for Catholic Education, has contributed an article to Ireland’s Yearbook of Education 2018/2019, published by Education Matters and edited by Brian Mooney.
His reflection, ‘Religion and Education: A changing and challenging relationship’, focuses on the changing relationship between religion and education in Ireland. The challenges are many and creative responses are called for. Dr. Gareth Byrne envisages a new kind of dialogue between education and religion, and Religious Education may have an important role to play to play in opening up the discussion.
