Our Centre members’ research interests and expertise traverse sociological, psychological, and philosophical disciplines as well as biliteracy/Litearthacht as a Teanga 1 and a Teanga 2. Members are known globally for their scholarship on literacy development, digital literacy, literacy leadership, addressing underachievement in literacy, prevention and intervention of literacy difficulties, professional development in literacy and the role of literacy integration across languages and across a wide range of curricular disciplines. The Centre has a strong track record of research that continues to influence national and international literacy policy and practice including the National Literacy, Numeracy and Digital Literacy Strategy, the Review of Aistear the Early Childhood Curriculum Framework, Curriculum Integration and Modern Foreign Languages at Primary level.
