Invent DCU encourage industry-academia collaboration with business matchmaker event
Invent DCU, Dublin City University’s innovation and enterprise centre, will host a Business Matchmaker event on Thursday 7th May in The Helix. The event aims to facilitate targeted exchanges between industry and academia and explore opportunities for collaboration through access to talent, knowledge transfer, training and partnerships.
For companies interested in innovation through R&D, the event will give them the opportunity to set up online, one-to-one meetings with experts in DCU who are actively engaged in research that has applications across many industry sectors.
Businesses will be given the opportunity to outline the challenges they are facing, ideas they are exploring and discuss various options to collaborate and fund future R&D projects through state and European supports. Companies with both an established R&D programme and start-ups with new ideas will be welcomed and all one-to-one meetings between individual DCU researchers and industry representatives will be scheduled in advance.
Guest speakers on the day will include Dr David Prendergast, social anthropologist and principal investigator in the Intel Collaborative Research Institute for Sustainable Connected Cities and Kevin O’Flynn, sales manager at Enbio.
