Entrepreneurship Programme completed by DCU researchers
Invent DCU is delighted to announce that nine academics and postdoctoral researchers at DCU have just completed the Tech Venture Entrepreneurship Programme.
This programme has been specifically designed for postdoctoral researchers at DCU to assist them in commercialising their research and to quickly upskill on what is involved in bringing a technology to market. During the programme, the researchers covered a range of modules from market research, new product development and innovation, marketing, technology sales, funding models, IP, finance, business planning and many more. The programme has been developed to assist researchers with business concepts and terminology and to support them should they decide to become part of the team in a spin-out company.
All of the modules were presented by talented business people with relevant commercial experience in the technology sector. This ensured that the researchers got advice and examples based on real life experiences. As a 14 module programme, classes were delivered over a 3 month period. This programme was delivered in partnership with the DCU Ryan Academy.
“The Tech Venture Programme gave me the knowledge and confidence to get Pilot Photonics off the ground. With engaging course work and insightful instructors, it challenges you to develop your idea and see if it can be turned into something more. If you have ever even thought about being involved in a tech business, then I urge you to take the next step by enrolling in this course”.
