Continuing Professional Development and Religious Educators

A significant collaborative research study is underway in the School of Human Development at the Institute of Education, DCU.  A team of leading researchers in Religious Education are investigating the CPD needs of teachers of RE at both primary and post-primary level in the Republic of Ireland.  The Principal Investigator of this study is Dr. Gareth Byrne and the research team are Dr. Sandra Cullen, Anne Hession, Dr. Cora O’Farrell and Dr. Bernadette Sweetman.

Teachers of RE are invited to participate in this study by completing a brief online survey (no longer than 15/20 minutes) at the following link: https://sites.google.com/dcu.ie/cpdandre 

To-date, over 100 teachers have taken part, showing the importance of the study in highlighting the CPD needs of RE teachers in Ireland today.  We encourage you to visit the site and add your voice to the study.  The survey is designed to be anonymous and confidential.  The deadline for participation is Friday 26th May 2017.
