The Higher Education Lifelong Learning Ireland Network (HELLIN) is delighted to extend a call for papers for the
3rd National Conference on Lifelong Learning
HELLIN is a consortium of Irish Universities and Institutes of Technology's who work together collaboratively with the aim of promoting and improving the field of Lifelong Learning - see www.HELLIN.ie
The Theme for the 2016 conference is: 2016, Ireland a 100 years on - Lifelong Learning: Past, Present and Future (Remembering, Reflecting and Reimagining).
The conference will take place in the Athlone Institute of Technology on December 9th, 2016.
Guide to Oral and Abstract Submissions
We are delighted to invite abstract submissions for research, practitioner and case study papers. Abstracts on research should include research statement, methodology and a brief discussion of the findings. We welcome abstracts from students who have completed undergraduate and graduate research.
Abstracts should not exceed 600 words and should be a concise summary of what will be presented, including a title and the aim of the presentation. Please submit as a PDF document, naming the document as the presenter's surname, first initial and the title of the presentation (e.g. KellyF_Engaging Learners.pdf).
Abstracts must be submitted by 28th of October 2016 online at www.HELLIN.ie/call-for-abstracts/. Acceptance of proposals will be confirmed by 10th November 2016. Final versions of full papers (ideally 4,000 and no more than 6000 words including references) must be submitted by Wednesday 30th November 2016. Paper presentations must not exceed 20 minutes in length. Conference proceedings will be published in early 2017.

Additionally, recognising 100 years since 1916, we would welcome papers from both Northern and Southern Ireland, as this may enable us to identify differences and developments in both education systems since 1916 and in particular Lifelong Learning.
Posters should be presented in A0 size, portrait i.e. 841x1189mm (33x47inches). Each poster presentation will be allocated a self-standing, felt display board with Velcro stickers.
