IACE Hall of Fame Induction for HERC Director Prof. Maria Slowey
HERC Director’s Professor Maria Slowey was inducted into the International Adult and Continuing Education (IACE) Hall of Fame at a ceremony in Oklahoma on November 18th. Celebrating its 20th anniversary this year, the Hall of Fame acknowledges distinguished contributions to the field of adult and continuing education and serves as a record of inspiration for the next generation of continuing education leaders.
Professor Slowey is the first Irish person to receive this honour. Speaking at the event she said she was humbled to be joining such an illustrious group of IACE Hall of Fame inductees, but delighted to accept the nomination on behalf of the wider community engaged with research in the field of lifelong learning and higher education. The ceremony was held in conjunction with the annual conference of the American Association of Adult and Continuing Education.
