COMMIT meeting: Brussels Nov 2015
Yurgos Politis represented HERC at the COMMIT meeting in Brussels on 18-19 November 2015. The project has completed the Review, Refinement and adaptation phase of Tools 1-3, and added new features which take on board a wider and clearer idea of the social dimension of HE. COMMIT has also designed and developed a 4th Tool for monitoring attainment.
The Transversal analysis of the visit reports (12 visits) and the completed tools will lead to the publication of focussed reports including a feasibility study on the tool for monitoring attainment. The Tools have been conceived in English and have been translated into french and the aim is to get them integrated in HEIs management systems through Learning Events that will be hosted in the 12 participating HEIs
The meeting included a discussion of the draft Technical report (in both a plenary and small group formats), a discussion of the Executive Summary, the Policy Paper and Recommendations. Lastly, there was a very interesting “world café” style open dialogue on what the participants felt that the ideal University should aspire to be and look like.
