ACE/EUCEN conference, Dec 1-2 2014

Professor Maria Slowey, Director of HERC, will be speaking at the ACE/EUCEN (European Universities Continuing Education Network) co-hosted conference, at University College Cork, 1-2 December 2014. HERC is the Irish partner in an EU supported project coordinated by EUCEN, COMMITT- Committing to the social dimension of higher education.

The conference entitled “Lifelong Learning in Ireland: Mission, Vision and Practice”, is an opportunity to re-establish the Irish National Network of EUCEN (www.eucen.eu), and bring together academics, researchers and practitioners from the fields of lifelong learning, adult education, community education, continuing education, access and related areas (departments/individuals) in the Irish HEI sector.

The conference offers an opportunity for the presentation of academic papers, short workshop/seminars on theory and practice in lifelong learning/adult education.
