The Womens Gaelic Players Association is delighted to announce it will be holding an event in Dublin City University on April 12th at 7pm in conjunction with PwC Ireland.  The theme for the event is Leadership; Sport and Business.  The aim of the talk is to learn from the game changers for professional and sporting success.  There will be a range of speakers from various backgrounds, but all are leaders in their own respective fields, whether it be sporting or business.

Our first speaker will be Laura McEnaney.  Laura is currently joint captain of Monaghan senior Ladies football team.  Laura is also a PE and Biology teacher and she will be sharing her story on her lessons from sport, a high performance lifestyle and how she is translating this into her own professional career.

Paul Flynn, Dublin senior footballer, will also be speaking at the event.  Paul works for Lincoln recruitment as well as being the GPA’s secretary and commercial director.  Paul will be speaking about operating in a high performance space, personal development and lessons for a professional career.

Our next speaker is Dr.Siobhan O’Connor.  Siobhan is a chartered physiotherapist who began her studies as an ATT in DCU.  Siobhan is currently carrying out studies in injury prevention in female athletes, an area of study in which it is usually just male athletes tested.  Siobhan as a leader in her field will be speaking about female athletes and their future trends as well as her own personal development story.

Our final speaker will be Maureen King.  Maureen is founder & CEO of iTrust Ethics Ltd and previous Head of Fraud & Security in eir. She is a current student of the Executive MBA programme in DCU, as well as being former chairperson of DLGFA, HEC & ITSFF. Maureen is an SME in her specialist field, she will share her experience of high performance 'From the Pitch to the Boardroom.’

MC for the night will be Anna Geary.  There will also be an opening address from President of DCU Briain McCraith.  Representatives from PwC will also be present on the night to speak.  The night will wrap up with a tea/coffee reception with a chance for networking.
