The Guinness Brewery and the Future of the Bible
The School of Theology, Philosophy, and Music is hosting a a three day international conference entitled Herman Hoskier and the Future of Textual Scholarship on the Bible. This conference is funded by the Irish Research Council as part of the Council's Decade of Centenaries. Herman Hoskier was a textual critic of the New Testament with deep connections to Ireland who was active in the 1910s and 1920s. His father was also a long-serving director of the Guinness Brewery. His work has endured the decay of time and this conference explore his intellectual context in an effort to better understand the present state and future prospects of the field. The line up of speakers includes 20 experts from 11 countries.
