EQI success in bid for Uversity Review and Evaluation
Researchers at EQI are delighted to have been successful in their submission to NUI’s advertised tender for a Review and Evaluation of the NUI Uversity collaborative model of higher education.
Uversity is a unique, privately funded Higher Education organisation that established and managed a collaborative MA degree programme in Creative Arts for a period of three academic years from 2014 – 2017. The vision behind Uversity’s establishment was to use Ireland’s collective higher education strength to further develop Ireland’s international reputation as a centre of excellence in the creative and performing arts. The MA degree offering was unique in terms of the volume and range of HEIs involved in providing modules taught by internationally respected scholars in the creative arts. It was also unique in providing a dedicated personal mentoring service to students, both academically and in terms of their own creative practices.
Over the coming months, the EQI research team will conduct a review and evaluation of this model with the aim of capturing and assessing the Uversity experience of developing and supporting collaborative Higher Education. It is envisaged that the HE sector in Ireland and elsewhere can benefit from the learning gained through this process.
