Prof Hood appointed 2016 AERA Fellow
Professor Stafford Hood, Adjunct Professor at the School of Education Studies / DCU Institute of Education has been elected a Fellow of the American Educational Research Association (AERA). Speaking at the announcement of the 2016 Fellows AERA Executive Director Felice J. Levine said that AERA was‘delighted to honor these 22 scholars for their contributions to education research and for their dedication to the field,” She went on to say that the ‘AERA Fellows exemplify the highest standards of excellence through accomplishment, professionalism, and commitment.’
The award is particularly noteworthy given the status of AERA. Founded in 1916 AERA is the largest national interdisciplinary research association devoted to the scientific study of education and learning in the world., Commited to advancing knowledge about education,AERA encourages scholarly inquiry related to education, and promotes the use of research to improve education and serve the public good.
Professor Hood is the Sheila M. Miller Professor of Education Professor, Curriculum & Instruction and Educational Psychology and Director, Center for Culturally Responsive Evaluation and Assessment (CREA) at the University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. He has had longstanding relationship with DCU and in addition to his role as Adjunct Professor he is a core member of EQI- The Centre for Evaluation, Quality and Inspection.
