Kick-off meeting of the project ‘Reconceptualizing Early Childhood Systems for Justice and Equity
ECRC assembled a global team of researchers and policy makers in Chicago on 1st and 2nd June, for the kick-off meeting of the project ‘Reconceptualizing Early Childhood Systems for Justice and Equity’. Our project, funded by the Spencer Foundation under the new ‘Vision Grant’ scheme, develops a multi-site, inter-disciplinary programme of inquiry into the capability of early childhood systems to ensure just and equitable outcomes for all children from birth. It will
● result in more comprehensive conceptualisations of the constituting elements and interrelations of competent, just, and equitable early childhood systems;
● enable shared learning with and from successful initiatives at local, regional, and country levels;
● demonstrate pathways for knowledge transfer between equitable practices and policy making.
Over two days of intense teamwork, we mapped out local research sites in five global regions (South- and North America, Southern Africa, Southeast Asia, Europe), network and policy partners in the global early childhood policy environment.
