Ian Spillane is the manager of the Student Digital Experience team which is dedicated to ensuring that every DCU student has access to excellent digital resources and support throughout their academic journey.

Team Responsibilities:

Walk-in support desks: Located on the Glasnevin and St. Patrick’s campuses provide immediate help with software issues, account management, cyber security advice and DCU systems. (link to help.dcu.ie)
Classroom Audio-Visual Technologies: In partnership with a third-party vendor, we maintain and upgrade classroom audio-visual (AV) technologies.
Library and Study Space Support: Our team provides technical assistance for digital resources and ensures that study spaces are equipped with the necessary technologies to enhance the learning experience.
Printing Services: Through a partnership with a third-party vendor, we manage and maintain reliable printing services for students.
Support for Personal Devices: We offer comprehensive support for students’ online digital life, including assistance with personal devices such as laptops and mobile phones.
Computer Lab Maintenance: Our team supports and maintains various computer labs across the academic campuses for classes studying and examinations.
Partnership with Student bodies: We work with the Students Union, Student Support & Development, Teaching Enhancement Unit and ECIU board to ensure the student digital experience is represented.
