Gary Conway is the manager of the Software and Security team which is dedicated to protecting and enabling the DCU community. The team is responsible for the digital experience of students and staff using DCU provided software. In addition, the team are responsible for cybersecurity across all DCU systems and software.

Team Responsibilities:
- Computer Operating Systems: Install, configure and secure the operating systems (Window and Macintosh) on DCU trusted laptops/desktops.
- Software Application Portal: Standardised and fully tested applications available for safe deployment to your laptops and desktops.
- Non Standard Software Application Approval: Approve the secure installation of non standard software on DCU trusted laptops/desktops.
- Student Computer Lab Software: Gather ongoing teaching software requirements for installation and maintenance in Lab environments.
- 24x7x365 Security Operations Center: Monitor for, detect and react to adverse events in our complex digital environment in conjunction with our security partner.
- Vulnerability Management: Maintain inventories of all DCU data, software, hardware and systems and identify and mitigate against threats, vulnerabilities and risks to those assets.
- Incident Response Planning: Perform regular tabletop exercises to plan our responses to and preparation for serious cybersecurity incidents.
- Cybersecurity Cross Functional Groups: Manage departmental and University cross functional teams of engineers to address cybersecurity risks and protect the DCU community.
