DELI Launches new MOOC, The EU in Changing Times

The Dublin European Law Institute and DCU Brexit Institute has launched a brand-new Massive Open Online Course (MOOC) entitled “The EU in Changing Times”,  which is freely available on the FutureLearn Platform. The MOOC is a product of the Jean Monnet Centre of Excellence REBUILD, a 3-year research project supported by the European Union’s Erasmus+ Programme, and was created also with generous funding from the Irish Department of Foreign Affairs ‘Communicating Europe Initiative’ 2024. The MOOC is  a collaborative output by the Brexit Institute’s outstanding team of EU experts and you can see an introductory video of the course here.

The EU in Changing Times is a 4-hour course, which builds on a prior MOOC also produced by the Brexit Institute in 2020. Learners will gain knowledge of the European Union’s response to two major recent crises – the economic disruption brought on by the Covid 19 pandemic, and Russia’s illegal war against Ukraine. This course helps the Brexit Institute fulfil its mandate of public outreach, bringing expert knowledge about the European Union to a general audience, upholding a dialogue between EU citizens and the academic and policy worlds. It is designed for engaged citizens, including first-year undergraduate students and professionals in Ireland, the European Union, and beyond, who seek to understand the EU’s crisis responses without requiring specialised knowledge.
