DCU E-Commerce Students - Winners of Leaders of Tomorrow

This year, we are delighted to congratulate DCU MSc in E-Commerce students James Barry and Callum Bashford on acehieving first prize in the Accenture Leaders of Tomorrow competition.The two have developed an innovative service that offers online banking customers a new and conveinet way to donate to charity named "Cent for Change".The winning business idea is based on a very simple concept; at the end of eac month any spare cents in a user's account will automatically be donated to a charity selected by the customer. A number of banks have already indicated that they would favourable towards incorporating "Cent for Change" into their online banking systems.

The idea was originally developed as a result of the final year New Enterprise Development Module in the Bachelor of Business Studies in DCU Business School.

The Accenture ‘Leaders of Tomorrow Award’, setup  six years ago and open to third-level graduates across the country, seeks to recognise, identify and foster the next generation of talent that will help in shaping the public, private and social landscape of Ireland in the coming years.Callum and James will be given the opportunity to develop a proposal as part if a six-month idea Incubation Internship with Accenture and will take aprt in a Leadership Tour to New York later in the year. DCU Business School students have shown great success in the Accenture "Leaders of Tomorrow" Awards.
