DCUBS Doctoral Colloquium 2012

DCUBS Doctoral Colloquium 2012

On the 30th of November, DCUBS hosted The Doctoral Colloquium for DCU Business School Doctoral Scholars. The Colloquium provides students with the opportunity to present their work to senior faculty and research colleagues. It is a great opportunity for the research community to exchange knowledge and network, particularly for the part-time PhD students.

The colloquium was opened by the Dean of Graduate studies, Dr Lisa Looney followed by plenary session on “Building a Research Profile” presented by Professor Kathy Monks. The programme for the day combined students presentations and 4 workshops to assist the doctoral scholars in areas such as the academic writing process, the Vivas process, etc.

A key element of the DCUBS Doctoral Colloquium Day includes a doctoral student awarded with the “Best Poster Award”. This year DCUBS was delighted to award Sarah Jane Cullinane for her Poster Presentation. Sarah Jane’s research area is Lean Manufacturing and research question is “How do Job Design Characteristic resultant from Lean Manufacturing Impact Employee Psycho-Social Outcomes and Job Performance?”
