Get Social 2012 – Free Social Media Marketing Mini-Conference

DCU Business School invites Irish marketers, SMEs and start-ups to the Helix, DCU for the “Get Social 2012” mini-conference. The event takes place on the 16th October from 2pm - 6pm. “Get Social” features presentations and panel discussions from a host of marketing and social media experts. Speakers on the day will include Catherine Flynn (Facebook), Brian Herron (Google), Eric Weaver (IPG MediaBrands), Claire Wardle (Storyful) and Mark Cahalane (Edelman). “This is the second year of the Techspectations’ “Get Social” mini-conference. DCU Business School is delighted to welcome the wider business community to join our students and staff to hear from some of the leading Irish and International organisations working with businesses using social media.” says Dr. Theo Lynn, of DCU Business School.

Get Social 2012” offers Irish entrepreneurs and marketers the opportunity to understand the benefits of integrating social media into their marketing campaigns. Attendees at this year’sl event will have the opportunity to gain insight from some of the world’s largest technology organisations such as Facebook, Twitter and Google.

“As Ireland’s University of Enterprise bringing industry into the classroom is an important part of preparing our students for the workplace but also underlining DCU’s role as a knowledge provider and facilitator within the wider business community.” says Dr. Theo Lynn.

“Get Social” aims to help raise the overall of knowledge of the role social media can play in business. “Get Social” is organised by DCU Business School’s outreach project, Techspectations.
