DCU Business School students win ITI Third Level Fantasy Budget Competition

Four students from third year of the DCU BS Accounting an Finance programme are this year’s winners of the Irish Taxation Institute’s (ITI) annual “Fantasy Budget” competition.

To enter the competition, students are required to work in teams of four and prepare a 2000 word document setting out 4-5 policy initiatives that would generate the necessary tax revenue and stimulate growth in the economy, as if they were the Minister for Finance.

Niall McNally, Shane McMahon, Gavin Kennedy and Mark Redmond picked up the prestigious win after submitting their proposal, which was described by judges as being unique and innovative.

The winning team are pictured with their first place prizes which were presented to them by Bryan Dobson, RTE, Chief executive of Irish Taxation Institute, Mark Redmond, and Brendan Keenan, Business Editor, Irish Independent.
