Biography:

Ciara Nolan is a lecturer in HRM at Dublin City University and a member of LInK (Learning, Innovation and Knowledge Research Centre). Prior to joining DCU, she worked for several years in the hotel and retail industries and lectured in Management and HRM in the Dublin Institute of Technology, Cathal Brugha Street. Ciara has also worked as a HR consultant and has undertaken research with many public and private sector bodies and local authorities throughout the country.

In 2005, Ciara was the recipient of a Ph.D. scholarship under the joint auspices of the Dublin Institute of Technology and the University of Limerick. Her research aims to review, reconceptualise and extend the notion of best practice HRD within the context of small organisations in the Irish hotel industry. As a member of LInK, Ciara is part of a team that was recently successful in obtaining funding from Fáilte Ireland to conduct research on management education and development within the hospitality and tourism industry.
