Biography: |
Aoife McDermott is a Lecturer in HRM at Dublin City University Business School and a member of the Learning, Innovation and Knowledge (LInK) Research Centre. Her research interests centre on health service management. With Mary Keating (TCD) and Louise Fitzgerald (DeMontfort University, UK) Aoife has an ongoing research project funded by the Health Research Board, investigating the role of the HR function and clinical directorates in Irish hospitals. Aoife’s doctoral research was funded by the Irish Research Council for the Humanities and Social Sciences and explored the implementation of service-improvement change in Irish hospitals. Academic and research awards include: Runner-Up Best Paper Award (with co-author Mary Keating) at the Organisational Behaviour in Healthcare Conference Sydney, 2008; Best Paper Award (with co-author David Coghlan) from AOM Research Methods Division at International Research Methods Conference, March 2007. |
