Meaning-making & Cancer Survivorship

Meaning-making & Cancer Survivorship

This research program focuses on seeking to understand the diverse ways in which people diagnosed with cancer and their families engage in meaning-making activities and approaches, and appreciating life's possibilities following cancer diagnosis and treatment in both positive and realistic ways. The research will examine diverse topics among these groups such as post-traumatic growth, benefit-finding, hope, how individuals engage in pro-social or anti-social behaviour and/or explore bodily and identity-related possibilities following cancer diagnosis and treatment. Methodological approaches include qualitative and/or mixed methods approaches, with the ultimate goal of developing and testing meaning-making interventions for cancer survivors.
