AI and Education symposium
The DCU Centre for Possibility Studies has partnered with the Centre for the Science of Learning and Psychology at the University of Bergen and the School of Psychology at Maynooth University to organise the international symposium on “AI & Education: Asking the Right Questions” on the 6th of December 2024. There is little doubt that AI will transform education - the revolution has already started, whether we like it or not. But are we asking the right questions? In two sessions of two hours each, presenters from academia and business discussed how AI is impacting education and beyond, building on their research in the area. Keynotes included Mairéad Pratschke (University of Manchester, UK) and Jason Gulya (Berkley College, USA) and the speakers were Ron Beghetto (Arizona State University, USA), Ioana Literat (Columbia University, USA), Patrick Connolly (Accenture, Ireland), Constance de Saint Laurent (Maynooth University, Ireland), Ingunn Ness (Bergen University, Norway), Andre Mestre (Bergen University, Norway) and Vlad Glaveanu, Dublin (City University, Ireland). The event was free of charge and open to the general public. Co-organisers: Vlad Glaveanu, Constance de Saint Laurent and Ingunn Ness.
