Originally, I wasn’t sure where I wanted to go to university, but I knew I wanted to study science. I have always had an interest in teaching and working with children so when I found a course that offered it all in DCU, it seemed too good to be true!
The great thing about DCU is the course numbers. There are only 22 people on my course which made it really easy to settle in and make friends. It also gives every student a great opportunity to get to know and work closely with the lecturers involved in the programme. The lecturers at DCU are second to none. They all want you to do your very best and work tirelessly to achieve this.
Make the most of college life
If I could give myself one piece of advice, it would be to enjoy these four years as much as possible because they fly by. Work hard, but also take your breaks and nights off to really get the full experience DCU has to offer.
DCU has completely changed my view on teaching as a whole and opened my eyes to opportunities that I never dreamed possible. I hope to be fully qualified next year teaching the subjects I love and making an impact on young people in any way I can.
