Emma Fogarty
The MSc in Child and Family Health and Wellbeing offered me the ideal avenue to specialise in an area I am passionate about – child development and wellbeing. DCU is a friendly, respectful and supportive environment for postgraduate study. Course coordinators and lecturers offer students an environment to thrive in and you’re constantly encouraged and supported to reach your full potential.
Get the most out of college life
The course blends online Zoom classes with regular campus visits, allowing you to learn from home while also being part of the college campus experience. My advice for anyone thinking about doing a postgraduate course is to take the leap. Choose a topic that you’re truly passionate about and don’t doubt your ability to achieve your goals.
Reap the rewards of your hard work
Returning to third-level education as a mature student with a career and raising a young family is challenging and daunting, to say the least. However, the learning curve has been tremendous. I have met wonderful people and achieved so much in such a short period. Sure, it’s demanding and time-consuming, but the reward and sense of achievement make it all worthwhile.
