Darren Clarke
Hi, I’m Darren Clarke and I’m Chair of the Bachelor in Climate and Environmental Sustainability (BCES). They say when you do something you love, you’ll never work a day in your life. As an environmental geographer, it is a privilege for me to teach on this course and share my passion for the environment in this way. I’ve also worked with local governments on the development of climate action goals and my research interests include climate change policy and governance; environmental psychology and transformative responses to climate change. The reality is that Ireland and the world desperately needs environmental geographers working in all aspects of society and business to tackle climate change. That’s where you come in! Already our BCES class has caught widespread media attention for completing a 30-day sustainability challenge - so I can’t wait to see what ideas you bring to raise awareness of environmental issues. We have a great team of experts teaching on this course and you’ll see me for subjects like: Introduction to Sustainability, Sustainable Food Security and Climate Change Causes and Consequences.
