DCU is delighted to announce a screening of the award-winning feature film 'Arracht' as part of our Oíche Airneáin series with Richie Conroy - DCU Writer-In-Residence 2021.

Arracht tells the story of Colmán Sharkey, a fisherman, father, husband, who is living in Connemara in 1845.

The film's writer and director, Tomás Ó Súilleabháin, will be present to talk about the film and answer questions from the audience.

Tá áthas ar DCU a fhógairt go mbeidh taispeántas speisialta den scannán iomráiteach 'Arracht' ar siúl mar chuid den tsraith 'Oíche Airneáin' leis Richie Conroy, an Scríbhneoir Cónaithe 2021 .

Scéal Cholmáin Sharkey is ábhar don scannán. Iascaire, athair, fear céile atá ina chónaí i gConamara sa bhliain 1845.

Beidh scríbhneoir agus stiúrthóir an scannáin, Tomás Ó Súilleabháin, i láthair chun labhairt faoin scannán agus ceisteanna a fhreagairt ón lucht féachana.

Film duration 89 minutes with discussion and Q&A to follow.

Location: Seamus Heaney Theatre, Cregan Library, St. Patrick's Campus
