Former Director General of the EU Council Legal Service to address conference on differentiated responses to crises in the EU

On 11-12 October the DCU Brexit Institute will host a two-day conference to discuss the differentiated responses to crises in the EU.

Jean-Claude Piris, former Director General of the EU Council Legal Service will deliver a closing keynote address about the EU in Crisis and discuss what EU Member States should do, whether it’s realistic that they might do something and if differentiation would help.

The first day will include the latest research by PhD students on a whole variety of research areas linked into the law, politics and economics of regional differentiation in the EU. The second day will feature expert contributions on the role of differentiation in the post-Brexit EU, its role in economic and financial affairs and its role in security, justice and migration.

Hosted by the DCU Brexit Institute, the event has been organised as part of the BRIDGE network in collaboration with the University of Copenhagen, University of Bozen and Bozano, and the Central European University.
