Thank You for Joining DCU AFU at the 50 Plus Show!
What an incredible two days at the 50 Plus Show Dublin 2025! The DCU Age-Friendly University (AFU) team was delighted to be part of this fantastic event at the RDS, meeting so many inspiring people and sharing what DCU AFU has to offer.
Day 1 Highlights
A huge thank you to everyone who visited the DCU AFU stand on Thursday! Your enthusiasm, curiosity, and friendly conversations made the day so special. We were especially proud of our wonderful AFU Ambassadors, whose warm smiles and energy lit up the room from start to finish.
Presentation by Dr. Christine O’Kelly
A highlight of the day was an insightful presentation from Dr. Christine O’Kelly, DCU Age-Friendly University Coordinator. Christine spoke about the importance of lifelong learning and the wide range of programmes, modules, and events available at DCU AFU to support learning, connection, and engagement at every age.
She also highlighted DCU’s involvement in the newly launched Erasmus+ project MEMORABLE, an initiative aimed at supporting cultural institutions, caregivers, and other stakeholders in fostering the inclusion of people living with dementia and their loved ones in arts and culture. This exciting project reflects DCU’s ongoing commitment to accessibility, inclusion, and meaningful engagement across all stages of life.
Day 2 Highlights
The energy continued into Friday! Our team spent the day chatting with visitors about opportunities to stay connected, active, and inspired with DCU AFU. Whether you're interested in lifelong learning, volunteering, or joining in on our events, there's something for everyone.
A huge thank you again to all who visited and made the event such a success!
One of our fantastic Ambassadors, Margaret O’Gorman, shared this lovely feedback:
“What a credit the whole event was to Christine and Gráinne. I was delighted to be there. Over the course of my career, I was regularly involved in event management, so I know how much background work goes into organising a stand. Very well done.”
