National Older Peoples Convention
The recent two day Older Peoples convention hosted by Fingal County Council on behalf of Age Friendly Ireland brought representatives from all 31 local authorities to the Clayton Hotel in Dublin Airport.
The aim of the convention was to discuss the possibility of setting up a National Older People's Council which is in the Programme for Government. The keynote was given by Richard Bruton, T.D Minister for Jobs, Enterprise and Innovation. Minister Bruton also undertook a tour of the information village set up on the day which showcased activities and opportunities from all 31 local authority areas.
