About the Technology
Our innovative Campus Explorer endeavours to create an interactive space that supports the development of a ‘connected’ campus community, that supports users to orient themselves with the campuses, to engage with other members and services through curation, and to engage with and use the formal and informal spaces.
This platform is developed by the Insight SFI Research Centre for Data Analytics, DCU Student Support & Development, and Smart DCU. All instances of the DCU Campus Explorer are designed using Open City Planner software developed by Bentley Systems.
Campus Explorer draws together new and existing digital assets, including 360 models and graphics. Campus Explorer is a web application accessible using any web browser. This platform is optimised for usage on high resolution screens but can also be accessed using mobile devices.
This cross university collaboration has involved engagement with a large number of subject matter experts representing students and staff.
We would like to extend our appreciation to all who have made a contribution to date.
