After completing the M Sc in October 2002 I was commissioned to produce a marketing CD-ROM prospectus and video for Dublin City University. In conjunction with two colleagues I established a company to complete these projects, as well as a video/multimedia project for the Guinness Hopstore and several other corporate websites. My role encompassed:
* Project lead * Design direction
* Video production (direction, capturing and editing)
* Multimedia programming (Director/Lingo)
* Website creation and content management
* Client liaison
* Scriptwriting & audio editing
Sept 2000 - April 2002: Vodafone Technical Support (Part-time)
* Provision of in-house technical support for Vodafone's multimedia "e-merge" service
* Trouble-shooting escalated queries in relation to web-based applications, java applets, mobile telephony and mobile networks
1995-1998: Freelance Television/Radio Production
Involving myself in a number of projects in various roles allowed me the opportunity to develop and gain experience in a diverse range of skills from directing to editing, and from research to camera operation. These projects included:
* Dublin transport initiative, "LUAS", promotional video
* Irish national broadcaster, RTE, shows "Queuing for a Living" and "Sportscene" and the Radio show "Sportscall"
* Music videos for bands such as "Juniper" and "Watercress"
1995 - 1998: Online Video Editor NTL (then Cablelink)
Initially employed as a junior camera operator, I was soon promoted to senior camera operator. I also began editing short pieces for the show and became the programme editor. My responsibilities included:
* Production of a half-hour weekly news/magazine programme
* Editing of the programme to a tight deadline
* Camera operation
* Training of new staff members
* Providing technical assistance to local community group
