Mary Kelly
Dr.
Lecturer in Nursing.
My early nursing experiences were in Ireland where I qualified as a Registered General Nurse (St Vincent's University Hospital, Elm Park) and a Registered Midwife (The Rotunda Hospital). I then moved to New York (The Mount Sinai Medical Centre) where I worked initially as a medical-surgical nurse followed by several years of specialization in surgical intensive care nursing and registration as a Critical Care Nurse with the American Association of Critical Care Nurses. When I returned to Ireland I moved into nurse education and graduated with a BNS (UCD) in 1998 and M.Sc. (DCU) in 2000. I was a Nurse Tutor at Connolly Hospital from 1998-2002 and took up my post as a lecturer in the School of Nursing DCU in August 2002.
