New Foundations Award 2021

Congratulations to the 9 DCU academics who have been awarded the New Foundations grant under four Strands: Enhancing Civic Society, A Better World, Department of the Taoiseach Shared Island grant and the Reconciliation Fund. The awarded academics are Dr Cliona Murphy, Dr Dawn Wheatley, Prof. Deiric Ó Broin, Dr Ger Scanlon, Dr Louise Hopper, Dr Róisín Costello, Dr Tanya Cassidy, Dr Trudy Corrigan and Dr Valesca Lima. 

The awardees will be partnering with different Government Agencies and Civic Society Partners to work on a broad range of issues and challenges. We wish the awardees the very best and we look forward to hearing the results.

 

Sports Ireland Tender Success

Congratulations to Dr. Sarahjane Belton, School of Health and Human Performance, who has been awarded a tender by Sports Ireland to carry out a study on Children's Sport Participation and Physical Activity.  This will be an all-island study and funding has also been secured from Sports Northern Ireland.  Dr. Belton will collaborate with colleagues in the University of Limerick, University of Ulster and University College Cork to carry out the project.  The project value is approx. €360k and will run for 18 months.
