Horizon Europe - Launch Event for Ireland

Overview of the Horizon Europe Clusters Webinar Series

This event will go into the details of each of the different Horizon Europe Pillar 2 Clusters. The webinar series is open to UK as well as European delegates with an interest in participating in European collaborative projects in Horizon Europe.

 

Launch of the new Horizon Europe European Innovation Council

Date: 18th and 19th March

Venue: webstreamed on the EUScienceInnov YouTube channel, no registration necessary.

The event on the 18th will launch the EIC first calls for proposals, present the vision of the EIC programme and what is behind its funding opportunities.

The second day (19th) will be dedicated to applicants and potential beneficiaries and stakeholders, and provide concrete information on how the EIC works, how to apply, who is eligible, etc. Applicants can register here.

 

Fulbright Commission Ireland DCU Info Session

Fulbright Commission Ireland will host a presentation for DCU staff and students on the Fulbright Ireland-USA Awards on March 24th 1-2pm.  The Fulbright Awards provide grants for Irish citizens, and E.U. citizens resident in the Republic of Ireland for 3+ years, to research, study, or lecture in the USA.  

Representatives of the Fulbright Commission Ireland will showcase the awards available and how to succeed at the application stage.  Following the presentation, there will be a panel of experts available to provide advice and take part in a questions and answers session:

  • Dr Donal Fitzpatrick, DCU Fulbright Ambassador. 

  • Dr Rachel Barret, DCU International Strategic & Research Partnerships Coordinator - coordinating the DCU/Arizona State University Partnership

  • Dr Francis Ward, School of Arts Education and Movement (Music) - travelled to University of Washington in Seattle for semester 2 2019/20.

  • Prof Stefan Ward - currently visiting the School of Arts Education and Movement (PE) from Central Washington University.

 
How to prepare a successful proposal in Horizon Europe

This upcoming webinar, hosted by the European Commission, will inform all potential applicants to Horizon Europe calls on the modalities for preparing their proposals.The agenda will include two main points: “Submission and Evaluation” and the “Model Grant Agreement”.

Business Ideas for Resiliant and Sustainable Future - Online Masterclass Series

MaREI and partners are launching a programme of online events to run between March 25th and June 3rd 2021 to encourage those interested in Sustainable Entrepreneurship to take some action towards our Sustainable Future. The kick-off event on the 25th March is an introductory webinar on Sustainability, with a particular focus on International Start Up Accelerator programmes focused on Energy, Climate, Digital Health, Materials, Blue Economy, Agtech and Bioeconomy. 

Get a sense of the types of technologies and solutions that are making progress, what opportunities are emerging, trends into the future and how your idea or research might find an attractive application.

They are also launching an All-Island Start-Up Competition which will involve three Masterclasses (April 1st, 15th and 22nd) which will introduce Start-Up methodologies to get you thinking about your idea as an enterprise.

Once you have completed at least 2 of the 3 Masterclasses you will get the opportunity to record and submit a short video about your idea and be in with a chance of winning one of nine substantial cash prizes available across three categories including; Post Graduate Students, Post Doctoral Researchers and Early Stage Start-Ups from across the Island of Ireland.

 

DCU Information Session on Horizon Europe Health Work Programme (Cluster 1)

Kay Duggan-Walls, the Irish National Contact Point for Health, Horizon European has kindly agreed to present an information session for DCU researchers interested to know more about the upcoming 2021-20212 calls under the Horizon Europe Cluster 1 - Health. 



Cluster 1 Health includes opportunities for interdisciplinary partnerships, in particular contributing towards Horizon Europe's Key Strategic Orientations on the development of key digital and enabling technologies and by creating a more resilient, inclusive and democratic society.



Researchers are encouraged to consult the available draft of the Work Programme and to familiarise themselves with the proposed topics under the 6 Destinations, as the session will include ample time for questions and discussions. The Enterprise Europe Network in partnership with Enterprise Ireland, Invest N. Ireland, Scotland, Denmark, Norway and Iceland's National Contract Points (NCPs) invites you to participate in an international partnering event on Horizon Europe's Marine calls.
