DCU’s Centre for Family Business Tackles Next Generation Business Challenges
The DCU Centre for Family Business is holding a half-day seminar on Friday 16th October at Teelings Whiskey Distillery, aimed at tackling challenges faced by next generation family business managers and owners.
The focus of this seminar will be on the timing and framing of difficult conversations by next generation members of multi-generational family firms. Topics discussed will include choosing when to ‘speak up’ and when to ‘shut up’.
Jack Teeling, Founder and Managing Director of Teelings Whiskey Distillery, will tell his story about the dynamics of working with his father and now his brother. This will be followed by a discussion about difficult conversations, facilitated by Justin Craig. Justin, Adjunct professor at DCU, is a Clinical Professor of Family Enterprise and Co-Director of the Center for Family Enterprises at Northwestern University in Chicago.
