Web Services

ISS are responsible for the development and maintenance of the DCU primary web site.

Services involve the identification and implementation of internet based processes for the general business of the University (eg. Web based exam results, registration, transaction processing etc.)

Main Responsibilities:

1. Design, structure and maintain the DCU primary web site
2. Involvement in the design, development and implementation of internet based systems to support the main processes of the University (Learning, Teaching, Research and Administration)
3. Select and implement web tools and technologies

Main Activities:

1. Liaison with the DCU community with regard to general World Wide Web matters
2. Develop and maintain the DCU primary web site
3. Provide a consultancy service to the owners of supplementary sites
4. Manage the e-mail and feedback sent to the Webeditor
5. Look for opportunities to apply Internet technologies to the main processes of the University (Administration, Teaching, Learning and Research) and work with the appropriate areas to implement these facilities
6. Keep abreast of emerging technologies and recommend appropriate tools and technologies for adoption by the University
