A Match made in DCU

The DCU Business Matchmaker held on February 17th at The Helix brought many DCU researchers and businesses together in one-to-one meetings to explore ways to collaborate to drive company innovations. Speaking at the event, Richard Stokes, Invent CEO and Director of Innovation at DCU said “By getting conversations going in this informal way we know this can lead to many new ideas emerging that will keep Irish companies at the cutting edge and ensure their competitiveness. This is our second Matchmaker event and we are delighted that it has grown significantly since last year. We have 140 meetings scheduled today between our researchers and industry - real evidence of our commitment to being recognised as Ireland’s University of Enterprise“ .

The event allowed companies to outline to experts the challenges they are facing, explore new ideas and the various options to collaborate and fund future R&D projects  i through state and European supports. Organisations with both established R&D programmes and start-ups with new ideas attended. The event  was sponsored by AIB  Bank in line with their sectoral approach to supporting Corporate and SME customers in business growth.
