Lotto Bonus for Masters in Marketing Students

11th March 2009

Students of DCU's Masters in Marketing programme struck it lucky this week when they got a chance to meet up with Eddie Banville, Head of Marketing at the National Lottery. Eddie was giving a seminar entitled "Marketing a Dream: Strategies to maintain dominance in an economic downturn", in which he shared his experiences of successfully marketing and rebranding the National Lottery.

Launched twenty-two years ago, the National Lottery has raised 3 billion euro for a range of social and sporting causes and has become one of Ireland's best-known brands. Meeting with Banville provided the budding marketing and branding specialists of the DCU MBS with a valuable insight into the company's recent brand overhaul and the extension of its product offering to include online and mobile games.

The lecture was the fifth event in DCU Business School's 12th Annual Spring Marketing Lecture Series. Organised by Dr Michael Gannon, Chair of the School's MBS in Marketing, the series is intended to bring our marketing postgraduates and experienced practitioners together. Other contributors this year include senior marketing specialists from Aer Arann, Coca-Cola, Diageo, and Allied Irish Bank.
