  We know you are getting ready for your exams. We would like to wish you every success with your efforts. Remember you are also preparing for the next stage of your life and that’s exciting. This may well be starting a new job, postgraduate study or taking time out.

Here are a few last minute study tips from the Careers Service!

1. Stay calm, get sleep and do your best.
2. Eat healthily and stock up on lots of fruit. Eat breakfast, lunch and dinner.
3. Visualise a successful exam experience. Practice exam questions, manage your time during the exams and prioritise.
4. Remember the advice and tips received from your lecturers.
5. Answer questions clearly. Before you start writing, spend a couple of minutes reading the questions, brainstorming the key points/ideas and have a broad outline of your answers.
6. In your last couple of study days, review the modules, skills and areas where you are strong. This will keep you positive.
7. Exercise and get fresh air. Stay confident.
8. Get the best result possible.

The Careers Service will be open all summer to offer you advice and assistance. Success is closer than you think. In order to get the best job available, stay positive, energetic and enthusiastic.

 DCU Annual Giving Programme 2011

  DCU students are needed during the 14th DCU Annual Fund telethon which will take
place from Monday 30th May to Saturday 18th June.

Enthusiastic students either undergraduate or postgraduate are required, to talk to
DCU graduates over the telephone. Your job will be to introduce the DCU Annual
Fund to graduates, and ask them if they would like to make a donation. A script will
help you as a general guide; however, your own interpersonal skills will also be called into play.

Job Requirements:-
• Ability to work evening shifts. Calling will be done on campus from 6pm-9.30pm weekdays, 11am-4pm Saturday.
• Full training will be provided and no prior experience is required.
• Represent DCU in a professional manner.
• Have a good knowledge of DCU, i.e. have studied here for at least one year.

• Wages: €7.65/hour plus bonus hour for reaching targets

 TERENA Call for Student Posters

  TERENA, the Trans-European Research and Education Networking Association, is offering students the opportunity to attend its 2011 Networking Conference, free-of-
charge, by submitting a poster related to the conference theme: "Enabling Communities".

Dates: 16 – 19 May 2011
Venue: Prague, Czech Republic

10 students will be selected to present their posters at TNC2011, the largest European research and education networking conference, that brings together decision makers, networking specialists and managers from universities, research networking organisations, and industry representations. The selected students attend free of charge and the best poster wins a prize, sponsored by Cisco.

 Looking for an exciting paid Internship in Berlin, Germany?

  Position:
10-month internship as an English Language Instructor, teaching English to children between the ages of 3 and 10 years old in kindergartens and primary schools throughout Berlin from the 15th of August 2011 until the 19th of June 2012.

Job Requirements:
A teaching qualification is not a requirement; however, prior experience and previous work with young children is advantageous. A proficient level of German is also necessary.
