Each section is further subdivided into a number of web pages. Let’s take a look at the Interview section as an example. Here you will be introduced to the following specific areas- preparing for interview, different types of interview, interviews questions and activities, handling interview nerves and rejection, understanding what employers want from interviews, recognising the role of appearance and body language and finally learning from your interview experience. Each of these sections has a number of subsections- to illustrate lets look at the interview questions and activities section where you will find excellent information together with video pod casts and links to each of the following web pages- open questions, handling awkward questions, presentations, personality assessments, psychometric testing, in-tray exercises and links to other resources.

A Korean Experience - Monday 22nd March 4pm in CG 11 Henry Grattan Building
English Program in Korea (EPIK) will be visiting DCU for a presentation on the EPIK program.
Would you like to teach English in Korea?
The Korean Government invites responsible, enthusiastic Irish students and graduates as Guest English teachers or TaLK scholars as part of the Korean government’s aim to promote and strengthen English language education.
EPIK(English Program in Korea) is inviting native English speakers who have completed a bachelor’s degree in any discipline for the regular English class at primary and secondary public schools. 1,100 positions are available for September 2010 placement.

European Language Label / Language Ambassador of the Year 2010 |

The European Language Label recognises creative and inventive ways to improve the quality of language teaching and learning. The annual award, which is coordinated by the European Commission, is managed in Ireland by Léargas. Examples and descriptions of previous winning projects can be found on the Léargas website: www.leargas.ie/ell
The priorities for 2010 are:
• Language Learning in the Community
• Language Skills for Work
• Languages and the Arts
These priorities are not exclusive and applications from all kinds of language projects are welcome.
There will also be an individual European Language Label in 2010, the Language Ambassador of the Year. This will be awarded to a person in the formal or nonformal sector, who has encouraged language learning in the community or created an awareness of languages in society.
The closing date for receipt of applications is 31 March 2010.

Get Started: Tech Venture Creation Programme |

Do you have an idea for a technology business?
Invent DCU is offering an exciting new training programme specifically designed for DCU researchers who may be interested in starting up a technology business.
Interested participants will be offered 6 months of mentoring at the end of the programme.
Programme Start Date: Thursday 8th April 2010 at 6pm
This 6-week programme (12 modules) will comprise of weekly sessions held Thursday evenings and Saturday mornings in Invent DCU. This unique programme has been heavily subsidised and the resulting cost per participant is €300.

Assessment Centre on Wednesday March 31st in DCU |

A unique opportunity to take part in a simulated Assessment Centre – a process widely used by top employers as a key part of their Graduate Recruitment and Selection process.
This Assessment Centre runs from 8am-1pm and involves a range of individual and group exercises and is INVALUABLE preparation for final round interviews. This Mock Assessment Centre is the only one of its kind run in Ireland and will be run by Sinead English, Career Consultant and ex-graduate recruiter.
The maximum number for participants at the Mock Assessment Centre is 8. The Assessment Centre will take place on Wednesday March 31st with an 8.00 am breakfast meeting start and finish around 1.00pm. It is open to all interested final year students as well as postgrads.
To apply, please e-mail your CV and a short 100 word motivation statement highlighting why you should be considered for the event to careers@dcu.ie and in the subject box put "Assessment Centre Application for Muireann". The event is FREE to participants. Closing date for applications is 12-noon on Thursday March 25th 2010.

Wednesday 31st of March from 2.00-6.00pm in XG01.
This is a 4 hour experiential afternoon workshop, which aims to help you fast forward
your career and take control of your future. This is an excellent opportunity for
Science Students (final year undergrad and postgrads) to structure your career
